MySpace presents The 2005 Hotel Cafe Tour : Photo Recap

So the night before MJ and I left for ACL, we went to The Patio to check out The Hotel Cafe Tour w/ Cary Brothers, Imogen Heap , Butch Walker , Peter Searcy and Joshua Radin. It was a great night of music and I stress to you to go see this show if it comes to your area. It's fresh and keeps you entertained with little downtime and no set changes. Each artist comes up, plays 3 or 4 songs and immediately introduces the next. Then, for the second half of the show, each artist plays another set, but is accompanied by one or all of the artists on the tour. At one time Butch Walker, Cary Brothers, Imogen Heap and Josh Radin are all up on the stage collaborating on a song. It lead to some great sounds and funny moments. It's a wonderful format for a show and I could tell the artists were really enjoying it too.

MJ and I talked to Cary Brothers again for a long time. He just couldn't be a better guy. Imogen Heap was very nice and played a beautiful non-electronica altered version of Hide and Seek when she coulded get her computer/instruments to cooperate. I was really impressed with Butch Walker, that guy can rock. Motley Crue was in Indianapolis the night before the show, so all the Hotel Cafe artists went because Walker wrote songs on Tommy Lee's last album...they had some good stories about partying with Lee and the Crue the night before. Here are the pics and some tunes...

how was the show Maggie? Same line-up as mine? I know there are a lot more artists that will be joining up as others drop out.

the lineup was cary brothers, imogen heap, jim bianco and some other girl.

i had seen cary 3 times before so he was the same as usual. super mellow, but still good. imogen was amazing. just stunning.

jim bianco uh, kind of made me want to kill myself. he was baaaad.

i think the main problem with my show was the venue. it was tiny and the 10 people that were standing up were the only ones that could see the stage. so i couldn't seen anything the whole time and that sucked. but imogen sounded great and shes the main reason i went.
