85 Feet and Falling

Sorta

Sorta is one of Dallas' best bands, and their new album is due out soon. I've heard their sound described as "what wilco would sound like now if they hadn't turned into radiohead", and while that doesn't even really make any sense, they do bring to mind Summerteeth-era Wilco. Their last album, Little Bay, was was named the best album of 2004 by the Dallas Observer, and Paste Magazine called it "a batch of tunes as well-crafted as any you're likely to encounter this year..."

This heartbreaking track, from their upcoming album, is based on the true story of a guy that threw his girlfriend off an overpass in Richardson, TX, watched her fall to her death, then jumped to his own death.
