Eric, I finally did it. The meme. I am exhausted. Enjoy these samba and nylon guitar delights, the majority coming from Baden Powell (NOT the founder of the Boy Scouts, but nice try).

Baden Powell is the absolute, hands-down king of the "acoustic" guitar. His finger-pickin', riff-lickin' approach to the nylon strings was superb, and he earned his place at the forefront of expressive composers in 20th Century Brazilian music.

Powell enjoyed a long and rich career, collaborating with some heavy folk in the music world: Stan Getz, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and the cats represented here, Charlie Byrd, singer Joao Gilberto and lyricist/longtime muse Vinicius de Moraes.

His music touched samba and bossa nova, and his composition skills are supreme.
