Notes and Scratches

This afternoon's post features two artists on Tense Forms, a "tiny art collective, small press, record label thingy in Chicago". I highly recommend both the Notes and Scratches and Radiant Darling, and also check out the other Tense Forms artists at their website.

Some of the most vibrant, heartfelt, and downright exciting music these days is coming from these little art collectives (see Austin's Whiskey & Apples), so I'm more than happy to feature these artists here on gorilla vs. bear.

"The Notes and Scratches' raspy, writerly country pop sounds like early Tom Waits channelling Ben Gibbard"

the Notes and Scratches The Clockmaker's Daughter mp3

Radiant Darling's Ami Saraiya

a "delicious mix of rag time, 80s pop, lullabies and Indian folk music is married with Saraiya's easy associations with Bjork, Johnny Cash and Jeff Buckley"

if you enjoyed these songs, support these artists by buying these releases directly from Tense Forms
